About the Role
Home Health Aides provide personal care and supportive services to patients in their homes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Case Manager. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, meal preparation, feeding, mobility, transfers, positioning, light housekeeping, and other activities of daily living. HHAs must follow the established plan of care, accurately document services provided, report changes in the patient’s condition or incidents to the supervising nurse and office, comply with EVV and agency procedures, maintain patient confidentiality, and keep required licenses, certifications, health screenings, and training current. Requirements
Current Home Health Aide State Board License
Completion of an approved Home Health Aide training program of at least 75 hours
Satisfactory completion of required competency evaluation
Current CPR certification
Minimum age of 18
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Current police/background clearance
Current physical examination showing fitness for duty and freedom from communicable disease
Current TB screening, such as PPD or chest X-ray
Ability to provide personal care, assist with activities of daily living, mobility, transfers, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and other assigned duties
Ability to follow the plan of care and report changes in the patient’s condition
Ability to maintain required documentation and submit renewed credentials before expiration
Completion of required annual in-service education
