About the Role
Registered Nurses provide skilled nursing and clinical oversight to patients receiving home healthcare services. Responsibilities include completing initial and ongoing assessments, identifying patient needs, developing and updating plans of care, obtaining and following physician or authorized practitioner orders, providing skilled nursing services, monitoring patient progress, and reporting significant changes in condition. RNs coordinate care with patients, families, physicians, aides, and other healthcare professionals; complete accurate and timely clinical documentation; provide patient education; participate in quality improvement activities; and supervise assigned nursing or support personnel when appropriate. RNs must maintain all required licenses, certifications, and credentials.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current Registered Nurse license for the District of Columbia or other jurisdiction required for the assignment
At least two years of progressive nursing experience
Home health experience preferred
Current CPR certification
Effective oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to perform patient assessments and reassessments
Ability to develop, implement, review, and revise plans of care
Ability to obtain and follow physician or authorized practitioner orders
Ability to provide skilled nursing services and document care accurately and timely
Ability to communicate changes in patient condition and coordinate care with the healthcare team
Ability to supervise assigned nursing or support personnel when required
Must maintain current licenses, certifications, insurance, and other required credentials
